These are still taboo topics to talk openly about for most of us! So many people are confused, frustrated, and struggling with unfulfilling sex, a disconnection from their pleasure, and a lack of high quality education about this area of life.
When we support clients to have a healthy relationship with their pleasure, they become more energised, confident, relaxed, and creatively inspired. People who feel fulfilled sexually are more present with their loved ones too.
As an Integrative Sex Coach & Educator, you’ll be able to guide people to unravel old stories around shame and guilt, reclaim their pleasure, discover their orgasmic capacity, and access more satisfying partnered intimacy.
The mainstream view on sex focuses on intense passion, going hard and fast towards the goal. Yet so many people are still feeling unfulfilled in this area!
What we don’t learn is that cultivating a healthy relationship with our sexuality is about being present with ourselves and a partner, relaxing into deep states of pleasure, accessing curiosity and playfulness, and building sensitivity so that we can feel more over time.
In your Integrative Sex Coaching sessions, you’ll combine elements of embodiment, somatic enquiry, education and integrative coaching, guiding every client to feel empowered as a sexual being.
Our physical and mental health, the life stage we’re in, our relationship with pleasure and self care, our body confidence, our intimate relationships (and relating skills!), our emotional capacity, the shame or limiting beliefs we might be holding, and our level of understanding and education about these topics.
All of this needs to be considered if we want to take a holistic approach to sex coaching and education.
Most of the trainings out there have one of two orientations:
The spiritual trainings – with a focus on neo Tantric techniques, sacred sexuality, and energy healing. This pathway can be prescriptive, dogmatic, and doesn’t usually appeal to people who aren’t interested in spirituality.
The academic trainings – university level sexology studies are often dry and disembodied, missing the deeper somatic tools, relational and facilitation skills to confidently coach and facilitate this work.
The sex coaching & education field is still largely unregulated. So many industry “professionals” actually have very little training or experience and don’t have the education they need to work safely with clients.
That’s why we’ve created the most comprehensive yet holistic sex coaching certification out there.
We’re blending the wisdom of Isabela Bottura (medical doctor and ObGyn), Bonnie Bliss (Somatic Sexologist), and 14 other industry leading experts to make this training truly the first of its kind.
As Health-Science Informed™ coaches, we are familiar with the medical conditions, medications, and procedures that might impact someone’s experience of pleasure or sexuality. We also understand how menopause, pregnancy and birth, and different phases in the menstrual cycle can influence us. This way, we can support & empower our clients by truly understanding them. We know we aren’t medical professionals – we understand our scope of practice and refer clients onwards to any relevant practitioners so that they receive the right care for them.
We believe that our clients know themselves better than we’ll ever know them, so we are careful not to impose our own beliefs or ideas on others. We see each client as an individual human being, rather than a condition or a ‘dysfunction’. We work collaboratively in our coaching, engaging the client in the whole process, without putting ourselves above them. We check in with them every step of the way, making sure that they’re not overriding or pushing through anything and that they’re going at a pace that feels right for them.
We understand that many of our clients will have experienced some kind of sexual abuse or have significant trauma in their background. Part of being trauma-informed is being aware of our scope of practice as a coach, knowing we aren’t trauma therapists. We know how to create a warm, sensitive, compassionate space where people feel seen, and we share practical nervous system tools to build resilience in daily life. We recognise when a client is in fight, flight or freeze mode and have tools to support them when this happens.
As Integrative Sex Coaches with extensive training in embodiment and somatics, we’ll guide people to deepen their relationship with their body. We’ll support our clients to expand their capacity for staying present with sensation – which is essential for accessing deeper pleasure and intimacy. We’ll use a wide range of body awareness practices and teach our clients practical tools they can keep forever. We’ll help them tune in to their needs, desires and boundaries on an embodied level using simple yet powerful movement, touch and connection practices.
We recognise that people come from various cultural backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations. Everyone is deserving of high quality sex education and coaching. We believe that there is no correct way to engage with your sexuality. Our clients will have all kinds of sexual curiosities, desires and backgrounds. We meet our clients without judgment, acknowledging their unique sexual identity, their needs, past experiences and interests, and we support them to connect with their sexuality in a way that feels authentic to them.
We know that pleasure is far from being superficial or frivolous – it is a nervous system resource that supports us to become more whole, connected, present and loving humans. When we take a pleasure-based approach with clients, we’re prioritising what feels good, rather than imposing any hierarchy. We don’t push our clients to engage in genital-focused practice before they feel ready, but we invite them to deepen their connection with pleasure, aliveness and joy in their lives in many different ways – which supports their relationship with their sexuality too!
As the lead facilitators on the certification, we’re beyond thrilled to share our training with you! We’ve developed this modality based on working with thousands of clients, both online and in person, and our extensive experience training and mentoring sex coaches and sexuality educators.
We’re weaving together Dr Isabela’s background as a medical doctor (ObGyn) and certified sex coach with Bonnie’s background in embodiment and long term experience in the field as a somatic sexologist & sex educator to create a truly integrative approach to sex coaching and education.
Isabela started her university pathway at age 17, on a Psychology Bachelor. She then decided to study medicine, graduating as a medical doctor in 2014 – she has been a certified Gynecologist and Obstetrician for the last 7 years.
Integrative wellness has always been one of Isabela’s biggest values, understanding that health is not only about the physical body, and that every human needs to be treated as a whole, unique being. She developed a special interest in sexual wellness and pleasure, certifying as a Sex, Love, & Relationship Coach.
A teacher and mentor to many, from medical students to coaches and sexologists, Isabela certifies practitioners already working in the sexuality field as Health-Informed Sex Experts under her training The Science of Pleasure.
Her students love that she brings lightness and openness to her teaching, with sprinkles of “oversharing” about her own journey and exploration.

That’s why we’ve invited trauma-informed expert, Amanda Patterson to teach on the certification. Amanda will offer training, regular live calls and practical tools for nervous system regulation throughout the program. She’ll also guide us in how to work with clients in a trauma-informed way.
Amanda is a trauma-informed expert and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, SAFE-T (Somatic Attachment Focussed Expressive Arts) therapist, Essence Coach and Voice Dialogue facilitator.
With over 25 years of experience in personal and professional development as a therapist, coach, bodyworker and facilitator, Amanda combines nervous system wisdom, non-duality and working with the inner critic to help practitioners land more fully in their bodies and transform their client results.
She is also the creator of the Somatic Soul Method, Embracing the Inner Critic and Mastering Trauma-Informed Leadership Certification
Pleasure helps us become more present in our daily lives. You’ll learn how to bring sensory pleasure into the way you engage with the program material, so you’re more connected and enlivened as you explore – and so the learning process is waaay more enjoyable!
We’re not going to start with months of personal exploration before learning how to work with clients. You’ll get to practice new coaching skills from the very start of the program, building the confidence you need to work as a sex coach, even if you are brand new to this field.
You’ll deepen your relationship with your body as you go through the program, expanding your capacity for sensation and becoming more resilient. You’ll embody a wide range of transformative tools and practices that you’ll be able to use with your future clients.
Feeling like you’re part of a community of practitioners supporting each other makes a huge difference in this field! We’ll have lots of options to engage with the group in calls, pod groups and 1:1 accountability buddies so you don’t feel like you’re on your own.
You’ll be supported by a team of teachers who understand different learning styles and needs, celebrating you and giving you personalised feedback on your assessments as you step into this new career. You’ll be able to ask questions and get the guidance you need.
Running a business in the sexuality niche is a whole skill set to learn, so we want to make sure you have the tools you need.
Both Isabela and Bonnie are not-so-secret business nerds and love to share what they know about business systems, the weirdness of spicy content creation and how to grow a thriving business in the sexuality field. You’ll meet other practitioners in the field and gain insights into running a business as a sex coach & educator.
Practicing under an accredited modality helps build trust and credibility with clients.
When seeking out practitioners, clients may look for things like accreditation & membership to professional bodies to see if someone seems legit. The Sexual Integration Institute is a registered training provider with the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, which is linked to various options for insurance providers.
There’s so little awareness around the nervous system and trauma in the sexuality field – but we’re contributing to changing that!
We’ll make sure you can recognise when a client is in fight, flight or freeze and know how to support them – or when to refer them to a trauma therapist. You’ll also discover a range of tools for working with your own nervous system regulation to create a calm, grounded space for others – which makes a huge difference!

This isn’t just about getting certified; it’s about supporting people to come home to their bodies, release layers of shame and self judgement and unravel patterns of numbness. It’s about helping people explore their pleasure, go deeper in partnered intimacy, and discover who they are as sexual beings – which impacts all parts of their lives.
We’ve both had many moments of pinching ourselves that we get to do this work in the world – it’s so needed and people are so damn grateful for it. We’d love to share that joy with you too!
